Breathtaking Architecture
• After crossing the border, we will visit the Glass factory, King Sobuza Memorial, the Candle factory, Mantenga cultural village, Art & Craft market as well as the venue for House on Fire. • Overnight at Melilwane Wildlife Sanctuary
• Once border formalities have been completed and already on Mozambican soil, our guide will tell the story of Mozambique as we drive towards Maputo city. In Maputo you will visit the Railway station, the Fortress, the Money museum, the Iron House, the Cathedral, the Town Hall, the natural History museum, the Central Market, the Art & Craft Market and a few vantage viewing points. • Overnight at Maputo city lodge
• Today you have the option to choose from one of the two guided walking tours. Each one of them last for three hours. The rest of the afternoon will be at leisure. • Mafalala Walking Tour The tour takes you through an old township in the periphery of the then Lourenço Marques now Maputo city. The local guide will talk about the rich urban culture and history of this vibrant neighbour where ordinary citizens like José Craverinha, Naomi de Sousa and others contributed for the liberate Mozambique through literature, art, poetry, music and so on.
The second option is for you to choose The Art & Architecture Walking Tour Maputo city is home of the finest building styles influenced by not only the Portuguese Art Deco but also authentic African artistic expression and other architectural styles to include the Dutch, Italian, English, Austrian and most recently Russian and Chinese.
