The tour of Eswatini begins immediately after crossing the border, we will visit the Glass Factory, Mbabane Market, King Sobuza II Memorial Park, the Candle Factory, Mantenga Cultural village, Art & Craft market as well as Malandela precinct (venue for the annual House on Fire festival) Overnight at Simunye Country Lodge on Bed & Breakfast Those interested in Night life will be taken to at least 2 venues
Travel to Maputo city
The day begins with an early morning drive at Hlane Royal National Park for an up-close and rare encounter with White Rhino followed by breakfast before heading to the border gate. Once border formalities have been completed and already on Mozambican soil, your guide will introduce you to Mozambique covering the history of this Portuguese-speaking country as you drive towards Maputo city and stopping at a few tourist icons before checking in at the hotel, freshening up and getting ready for dinner. Mafalala Walking Tour + Art & Architectral Walking Tour
The day starts with a 3- hour guided walking tour of the old Mafalala Township in the periphery of the then Maputo city. A local guide will join us to and taking us through the rich urban culture and history of this vibrant neighbourhood where ordinary citizens like José Craverinha, Naomi de Sousa and others made their contribution through literature, Art, poetry, music in the fight against Portuguese colonialism. You will spend the afternoon exploring Maputo’s rich Art & Architectural traditions. It is important to note that Maputo city is home of the finest building styles in southern Africa as influenced by not only by Portuguese Art Deco but also by authentic African artistic expressions and other architectural styles to include the Dutch, Italian, English, Austrian and most recently Russian and Chinese.
Drive back to Nelspruit
Breakfast will be served then check out with brief stops at the Maputo Market as well as other places of interest as we head back to Nelspruit.
