Description: The tour departs from Nelspruit, White River or Hazeyview around 6 am and returning to Nelspruit by 4:30 pm. It covers major highlights to include: The railway station, the money museum, the fortress, the iron house, the cathedral, the central market and the fish market.

 

The following sites can be added on request at additional cost:
a) Matola raid museum @ R600 per event
b) Mafalala Walking Tour @ R750 per person
c) Art and Architecture Walking Tour @ R750 per person

All these sites to be visited form part of a long narrative by your knowledgeable guide from the time of pick up to the time of drop off at the end of the day. This includesd the history of not only of Mozambique and South Africa, but also the southern Africa region as a whole which has been the center of conflict for many years, leading to the independence of Zimbabwe and Namibia and finally, the end of Apartheid in South Africa as well as the end of the civil war in Mozambique.

Tour add-on

NB: You have an option to add-on to the Matola Raid Museum at an additional fee of R800 event. Interested guests are introduced to an in-depth history of Mozambique from the days of Portuguese colonialism, Mozambique’s independence, the civil war and how it ended with the signing of the Peace Accord in 1992. The tour also focuses on the life of South African freedom fighters in Mozambique and how their presence in this former Portuguese colony impacted negatively on the lives of ordinary Mozambicans.
